A Kershner Favorite! Orange-Cranberry Sauce with Walnuts
- 1 12-ounce bag cranberries
- 1 scant cup sugar (to your taste)
- 1 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 teaspoon grated orange peel (just he outside peel, aviod the white skin)
- 1 medium seedless orange, all peel and pith cut away, fruit diced
- 3/4 cup walnuts, toasted, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1/2 tsp cinnamin
- pinch of cloves
- optional: top off with 2 tbs Grand Marnier
Combine the cranberries, sugar, orange juice and peel in a medium saucepan and bring to boil over
medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Cook until thickened and the cranberries are tender, stirring occasionally, for about 12 minutes.
Remove from heat. Mix in orange pieces, walnuts and spices. Transfer to bowl.
